Give beta engines in North Carolina a call... When we did Perceptions they were less than a Yanmar, fit the same bed width ... New holes, same shaft length, but gave us new alternator and starter that the rebuild would not have.

It all made a big difference in how the engine performed, the exhaust was much less sooty and the transom actually stayed clean for a while.
