Dennis, 
Agree with the 30 micron and 10 micron filter choices. When I worked for 
Verizon, we found those numbers worked best. The lower 2 micron just causes 
flow issues and nuisance shutdown. I think Nigel Calder recommends 30 and 10 
microns. 

Correct me if I'm wrong. I thought the Racor turbine type water separater 
required that it be first in line to work well ( making it the primary) and the 
second filter the fuel passes through is called the secondary filter. Do I have 
that backward?

While we're discussing fuel filters, I recently read a blurb under a filter 
element description for Racor turbine type filters recommending 30 micron for 
water separation/primary filtration, 10 micron for primary without water 
separation and 2 micron for secondary filtration. 

Based on that, I have switched from 10 to 30 micron elements in my Racor 500MA. 
However, I have not been able to find that guidance anywhere on the Racor site.
