the topping lift is a piece of cake to use if you rig it such that it goes
from the aft end of the boom forward along the boom thru eyes on the boom
to a small block at the goose neck and then down to a block on the mast
collar and then thru turning blocks back to a cam cleat mounted on the deck
beside the companionway slide. I have installed a small block set at the
aft end of the boom which gives me a 4:1 advantage on the topping lift and
with this setup it is very easy to adjust the topping lift while standing
securely in the cockpit at the companion way
