Hi Steve. My panels on my C & C 36 have been replaced. The originals were 1/8 of an inch plywood(although it looks more like wood paneling type material) covered with a vinyl/ foam pad. I was fortunate to have my existing panels as a template. I used 1/8 plywood and went to a fabric store and purchased a few yards of marine fabric/vinyl. a spray adhesive to attach the fabric to the new panel. The original panel had little plastic caps that fit over the screws which I was able to recycle and use again.
I would think 1/4 inch wood would be a little more difficult to bend to the curve of the top of the liner. Good luck with the project.
