I used a Questus pole and dampened mount over the backstay of a 1980 C&C for 7 years. It looked and worked great.
On Calypso we glassed in an aluminum pole and used a prototype of the radar mount sold by PYI with a powerboat trim tab actuator to give us the ability to tilt the mount if we planned on being heeled over for a long time. The tilt function has not been used in the PNW but I would use it on a long offshore delivery. I have some ideas - there seem to be limited options, given the transom, etc. -- but it would be great if anybody has some pictures of successful installations thanks!
