While scraping clutter away from the "smile" (about an 8" section in the
very forward most area of the keel) I notice a screw or bolt showing thru
from the top of the keel to the hull. My "smile" is about 1/8" wide and as
said is only in the forward 8 inches. This screw is about 4 inches from the
leading edge of the keel and I can see the threads of it. It seems to be
about 3/8" diameter, much smaller than the keel bolts.
My problem is that I cannot spot this from the bilge area to see about
tightening it. It is forward of the large keel bolt directly forward of the
mast. At this point the keel is only about 4-6 inches deep (the 33-1 keel
is swept back).
Does anyone know of this forward keel screw/bolt and how to tighten it?
Thanks,
Tom Oryniak,
