It must be part of the ebb and flow thing. A few years ago there was no east coast rendezvous at all, now there is a great gathering. The west coast event, while still a lot of fun, has declined from a high of 123 boats to the 15-20 that show up these days. After a few years, it gets wearily difficult for the same people to pull it all together yet again without an influx of enthusiasm from newcomers and old-timers alike. If it wasn't for three or four people the west coast event would have collapsed entirely a few years ago when the local C&C dealer pulled sponsorship.
