I come from a light wind area; 10kts average with a std dev of 7.Since energy
is not created but only transformed (1st law of thermo) the device must slow
the boat by the appropriate amount the generator delivered...or more (2nd law
of thermo and E= 1/2 M v^2).Given that it's only of value in an area with more
than sufficient wind so boat speed isn't a problem.Also of value at mooring or
dock where opposing force doesn't change motion.At a dock, the amount of
electrons that can be bought by 500$ is hugh, so is it really of value for most

After watching the Brown family on Alaskan Bush People last night install a
wind turbine to power their part of the island, I got to thinking (usually a
very dangerous and costly thing to do) and found this on Defender:

So — has anyone installed a wind turbine/generator on their C&C? Pros? Cons?
How did you mount it? Any photos of your mounts would be appreciated in case I
pull the trigger.
