I was in the middle of varnishing last year when a carp swimming alongside the boat got spooked and splashed water on my work. It was not dry enough at the time.

Subject: Stus-List Cetol maintenance coat - ya just can't win I applied Touche's spring maintenance coat of Cetol gloss couple days ago. Spent night on boat, got up early, wiped dew off wood, gave it a light sanding and applied the gloss. Done by 11 am. Stood on pier admiring work. About 2 pm, my dock neighbor, who only shows up 2-3 times a year, appears with a pressure washer to clean his boat (which, of course, was UPWIND of Touche'). Fortunately, the Cetol was dry enough the slight overspray didn't seem to spot it. He's a good buddy so I didn't bitch at him too much but the coincidence of the whole thing was too funny.
