What about the rest of the boat? Were the batteries drained? It could be something as simple as a corroded key switch that could shut down the panel, but that would not generally kill the engine. Is there a pushbutton kill switch (momentary contact variety) or a cable to kill the engine?
Chuck Gilchrest Half Magic 1983 Landfall 35 Padanaram, MA From: CnC-List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Stephen Roy via CnC-List Sent: Tuesday, July 18, 2017 1:00 PM To: [email protected] Cc: Stephen Roy <[email protected]> Subject: Stus-List Landfall 38 Engine issues I have a 1984 C&C 38 Landfall with a Westerbeke W27 On Saturday I was out for a sail going out was fine no issues but when we were on our way back to the Marina under power the engine shut down. No bangs no sputtering no warning alarms just stopped. When I went to restart the engine I had no power at the Engine panel. Got towed in. First thought was fuel but that wouldn't cause the Electrical issues I don't think. Then perhaps the alternator was gone but I plugged it into shore power and left it for 24 hours but still dead. So after some google research and reading I'm suspecting it is a fuse or breaker. But for the life of me I can not find these items. Hoping someone might be able to point me in the general vicinity of such items before I rip the boat apart looking for them. Or perhaps someone who has experience this before and knows the fix. Thanks for any help Stephen Roy
