Not sure what you mean by cubby hole trim.

I took a lot of trim pieces home to varnish.

On the early C&C's there is a secret to removing the frames around the
storages with the slides. Three of the 4 pieces are "C" moulding.  The top
piece has had one leg cut off so it's an "L" moulding.  The top piece is
the "key" piece.  It must be removed first.  Small brads are in the slide
grooves,  Remove with needle nose pliers.  Pull the piece straight out.
After removing brads from the sides, they will "fold" inwards.  The bottom
lifts up.

The frames around all the cabinet doors are fastened from behind with
square drive wood screws.
