Paul, A friend had a similar problem with his Yanmar. Have you inspected the
connection between the gauge package and the engine? It’s a large wire
connector that usually gets left under the engine in a dark damp spot. If you
get it apart and clean up the connections you may be surprised how corroded
they are by now. Sometimes it’s already been removed and you find a handful of
crimp or butt connectors wrapped in electrical tape but that solution never
lasts long. You can also use a continuity tester to test the circuit.
