For those who want the details; The cleat is Schaefer Marine 8" black aluminum (found new in a consignment store). The aluminum angles is 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" x 6" (1/4" thickness) and is made out of marine grade aluminum (5086) - McMaster.com The keeper plate is 1/2" x 1/4" x 6" aluminum - Amazon The bolts through the cleat are 5/16" x 2-1/4" flat head stainless steel The bolts through the toe rail are 3/8" x 1" hex head stainless steel The nuts are Ny-Lock No modifications to the boat or toe rail were made. No animals were injured in the process 😀
The cost is slightly less that the Johnson toe rail cleat if you purchase the cleat at Defender prices.
