Hi Jack, I hope you’re doing well (and everyone else on the list!). I bought
Flight Risk (1976 33-1 Hull no 145) in 2009. Berthed at Charleston City Marina,
Charleston Yacht Club. I’m  her 3rd owner. Bought her from my sister in law’s
brother in Deale,MD and sailed her to Savannah and subsequently to Charleston.
Original name was Hot Box and then Delaney. Previous owner kept the name
Delaney. Has original Atomic 4 which runs great, is quiet and easy to work on.
She’s a lovely boat and gets compliments all the time. They don’t make them
like her any more. Barbara L. HicksonCharleston, SC

My C&C love affair started in 2000.  I joined the crew of Bill Dingwell?s
?Zoomer? a ?78 C&C 40? deep keel with an impressive race history in New England
.  Our main sail trimmer was Rob Ball.  We bought our first C&C in 2001, Half
Magic, a ?74 25 Mk 1 as the 3rd owner.  It served our family for 14 years,
mostly day sailing and cruising with a race here and there until our two
children with the occasional friend and a large yellow lab made for rather
crowded accommodations for weekend cruising.  We bought our new Half Magic, an
?83 Landfall 35 in Jan 2016 and again I?m the 3rd owner.  After Zoomer sold, I
rejoined Rob for racing as crew on his Etchells and we worked together at Edson
for quite a few years.  At no time did I consider replacing the 25 with
anything other than another C&C.  Maybe it?s the lines of the boat, maybe the
build quality, or perhaps Rob?s influence as a friend and sailing buddy or a
combination of all of the above.

Just an FYI, after acquiring his 34, Rob?s Etchells is now on the market and is
a spectacularly great deal given the time, money,  and effort he?s put into the
boat.. Someone on the list should snap it up!

Anyone going to Annapolis for the Boat Show this week?  I?ll be down there
walking the show on Thursday and Friday, supporting a few of my Novabraid
dealers.  Hit me up off list if anyone wants to catch up and talk boats.

Cheers,

Hello Al,

I have a question for the list.

How many of you have owned your current C&C yacht for 5 years or longer.

FYI - we have owned Honey since October 1976 and are currently the second
owners.

Best regards,
Jack Fitzgerald,
