We supplied the boats with Baby Stays, knowing that the mast could be tuned with a bit of bend so that it was not needed. However, when the boat was brand new, on the first sail, and not tuned yet, things could go south. So, we kept them on the boats. In a violent seaway they do stabilize a pumping mast . . . .
