When I was buying adjustable Jib cars, I talked to someone at Garhauer about their bearing style, I said ‘it doesn’t look like they recirculate – it seems like when they move, all the bearings move a little bit one way and then they all scrub on each other because there is nowhere for them to go’ He said, ‘Well, we have never had any complaints’.

The reason given was that too many people were loosing the balls when installing them. They will supply the ball bearing ones if requested. They are much better in my opinion. Two issues: 1) the cars do not roll as well as Harken (and possibly other brands), so if this issue is paramount, you may want to look at other brands; and 2) some brand name cars are big enough to accept a second sheet (temporarily). My Garhauer cars are not, which is another downside.
