My boat is still in the water at Saugatuck Harbor Yacht Club in Westport,
CT. We have a great bubblier system. Dirt cheap in the winter in a well
protected harbor. (It is open to the public to winter there. Half the
members pull their boats/ half don't) During Sandy our club house had two
feet of water but not a single boat that stayed in the water had damage.
Some that took their boats out in a neighboring town where floated of their
stands. Went down there yesterday at 10pm ish. The wind had pushed the
water out of the basin to a level I've never seen it that low. The docks
near shore where in the mud and you could see the bottom of the pilings. I
usually have water under my keel at low tide but last night it was in the
mud. Boat was upright held there by the dock lines. Luckly we have a soft
mud bottom. Lots of wind pushing about 100 or so boats with covers or
shrink wrap on. I saw no damage but a couple of kayaks and boards that were
not tied down well got blown around. Interesting to walk down those docks
with that much wind. They were getting pushed around. I looked like a
drunken sailor. Does anybody know of a yard that actually ties boats on the
hard down?

Hope the damage was minimal!
