So, this is our second full year with our new (to us) C&C 35-3.  This springs splash projects have been to paint the bottom (VC17M) and wash and wax the topsides (Aurora Boat Clean, Boat Scrub, Black Streak Remover followed by Boat Shine) but this year we also decided to tackle the boot stripes (Red over Blue) and the cove stripe/Daggers/Stars.  The cove stripe was a vinyl decal type stripe that was a real bear to remove.  Contrary to all of the advise, a 3M decal removal wheel was an absolute bust.  All it did was smear the vinyl all over the gel coat.  I removed all of it with my trust Shrade Old Timer (like me) lock blade knife.  I was able to get the edge up and peel a few inches to as much as two feet before it would brake again.  Anyways, I got it all off.  Washed it down with 202 fiberglass wash and today we taped, masked and painted it with the same flag blue Interlux Boot Stripe paint that was used on the lower stripe.  When we left today, it looked pretty good.  Left the masking on for tonight and will remove on Thursday when we go up to wash and wax.

Other planned projects for the spring were to add two Lewmar 30ST winches to the cabin top as well as replace several rope clutches with new Garhauer Marine units and change out our old Garmin 276C GPS with an EchMap Plus 73sv (tied into the Sealtalkng system)

Our unplanned spring project was to contract for a new Dodger after our Dodger windows cracked in about 4 different places when we put it up.  And, as long as we were doing a new Dodger, we are also getting a new Bimini and Rain/Sun panels.

We splash on 5/3 for the season (hopefully it will be warmer than the 39 degrees F last year when we splashed).
