Bruce, our last two boats came with a two bladed Max prop. They are adjustable
and give plenty of power in reverse, stops on a dime coming into the slip and
pulls slightly to port. We have no issues reaching hull speed either. The 1981
36KCB was Atomic 4 powered and the 1989 37+ is a Universal M35. I’ve had zero
issues with either prop. We are in sweet water if that is a factor but I don’t
think so. (There are no crab pots here, just a few gill nets marked with
floats.) Very happy with the Max prop but I don’t have any other prop
experience and hope I never do. 21 years with the Max. I use the appropriate
grease on haul out to push any water out from inside the prop.

One thing I should mention is that it gives me the ability to back the boat
into a slip or dock with as much control and confidence as I back up my truck
and imho that’s a pretty good indicator of a decent prop everything else being
equal.
