I am thinking more of a temporary arrangement, while at the dock. My wheel is
too big to use them underway, but it would be nice to occasionally have more
seating or be able to sleep in the cockpit. I have one of those Edson wheel
holders to get the wheel out of the way and plenty of room in the engine
compartment to store a couple boards. I’m not sure how to best support them
when in use.

My 1976 38 came with a set of these. I used them once... I can't even remember
where I stored them. I didn't like having to step up on them to get to the helm
and the added seating was not worth the inconvenience.

I’m very interested in the port and starboard “filler” boards. I’m thinking
about making a set for more seating in the cockpit. The cockpit configuration
on my boat is similar to the 34 and the 36 of the same vintage (late-‘70s /
early-80s). Has anyone done this?
