Hi, I've just ordered new hatches for my C&C 36, 1980 vintage. :-) The saloon hatch opening is 446mm by 320mm. A size 30 flat base hatch (such as Lewmar Ocean 30) should fit really well.
FWIW, I ended up ordering these Bainbridge hatches: https://www.marinesuperstore.com/hatches/window-hatches/bainbridge-storm-hatch They're less than half (more like one third) the price of the Lewmar Ocean ones.
