Thanks Francois
You diagrams are very helpful. Will also look at the links you included RayK Genesis Bedford NS From: Francois Rivard [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: July 19, 2020 4:45 PM To: cnc-list Cc: [email protected] Subject: Stus-List C&C 32 Mk 1 pre-bend Hi Ray, You don't need a baby stay or messing with blocks to set your pre-bend. I do neither and I have me pre-bend set "by the book" You need to set your forestay length to get the appropriate amount of rake for your boat then just tighten your base backstay tension to get the pre-bend you need. To measure the pre-bend you run your main halyard down to your gooseneck, tighten it and look at the distance between the halyard and the mast half-way up the mast. Mine is set for 3 inches on our 34+. See my illustrations on the concepts and follow those links for more info on how that's done from the C&C photo album site. http://www.cncphotoalbum.com/doityourself/masttuning/tuning.htm http://www.cncphotoalbum.com/doityourself/ Rake.jpg Prebend.jpg Good luck with the project.
