I have four solar fans on my 36 footer. It came with a fan on the forward
hatch and I added one to the head and one above the galley and another on the
opposite side in the cabin.

For my experience, the Nicro fans are the best though they lack modern
features. I've had a pair of the Night and Day fans running for almost
fifteen years. Replaced the batteries twice and had to solder a connection in
one last year. Both work fine now.

I had a pair of off brand solar fans that were more user friendly. They had a
switch to change the direction or turn off and a built in light. They also had
a way to close them off from water ingress. They lasted about eight years
before their external rubber trim cracked from UVs. I replaced their batteries
once during that time. They are no longer made. I bought a couple of Marinco
fans that stick up way too high above deck and catch jib sheets. I don't like
them at all and ordered two Chinese knockoffs that cost only $65 each. They
are very low profile with angled SS covers and no battery so only work during
sunlight hours, but that should work better for my purposes as I have the Nicro
fans in the cabin and 12V Caframo fans in the sleeping areas.
