Well, that is just crazy.

Thanks for the tip, but I will just get a couple 24V ones. I am amazed the 
stuff you can do with DC. I still cringe when I have to hook up a negative 
terminal to a positive one to make 24 V, it just seems wrong!

Since you have 2, you can wire them in series and use on your 24v system.
