My Renogy MPPT controler calls for a 20A Fuse. I have 2 100w semi flexible panels. Output is often close to 18amps

It is wired directly to my start battery and my ACR keeps both batteries topped off. My question is should I put a fuse in the positive output from the solar controller—IIRC it has a MPPT controller—to prevent a disaster in case a short develops anywhere in the panel/controller/hook-up/ etc.? If so, about what size fuse?
