Hey Don, Thanks for the reminder. I have a few hundred dollars of stuff in my Defender cart and I'll complete the purchase soon. I agree, the discount doesn't seem to be as deep. I had SS fittings selected that I can find cheaper on the interweb, so I will buy them that way. I think the discount average is 5% to 10% but the savings on big items was worth it.
West Marine: I only buy there as a last resort. They don't stock as well as in the past. And the local store doesn't answer the phone. I once was doing a project and needed a certain color paint, and the Glenn Burnie store had a recording answer the phone. I drove the ten miles and found they were out what I needed. There were two cashiers doing nothing but cleaning the counter and joking with each other, no customers in sight, so I called the store phone number and sure enough I got the same message, "Due to an unexpected high volume of customers, our assosiates are too busy to answer the phone. Please try again later." I put it on speaker for the cashiers to hear and told them they could have saved me a trip but their service stunk and walked out. I've also found them closing and locking the store before their posted hours. Very poor customer service this winter.
