For many years I've been wanting to check my keel bolt torque and after a light grounding last year in anchorage, I acquired the tools and was shocked this last weekend to find all nuts measured 35-50 pounds of torque. For my '81 C&C34 with 1" rods in the keel, the torque should be closer to 350lbs. My point in saying this is to simply suggest that you might want to check yours if like me, you haven't checked lately or never have.
