Yes, Rob Ball passed away yesterday morning. I spoke with Pat his wife yesterday. He had contracted pneumonia from a fall on a dock that broke 4 ribs and punctured his lung.
I’m always amazed how much credit my Dad got for the look of C&C boats and Rob would always credit him for his guidance but Rob certainly came in to his own and after taking over head designer in 1973 led the design department for 17 years till 1990. So GHC was head designer of C&C Yachts Limited for 4 years and Rob for 17. His contribution to the look and feel of the boats we love is immeasurable.
