Yes, Calypso was “Esta Es” from the Chicago area.

The owner of Esta Es was Gene McCarthy. IIRC, Gene is the current holder of the
record for participating in the most Chi/Mac races. I believe Esta Es raced in
4 or 5 Chi/Macs. She likely did a few more in the late 70’s and early 80’s as
“Phantom” out of the Green Bay Area.

When commissioned in January 1971 she was named “Arieto”. When not racing in
the SORC she was based in the Boston area.

I asked and I think you answered this before, but I forgot the response; is
this Esta Es from the Great Lakes?
If so, I toured it after a Chicago-Mac race.

It took two years for the right people to show up. Calypso's new owners are
very enthusiastic and experienced. One of them grew up on the Great Lakes and
has always wanted a 43. Calypso will stay in the Port Townsend WA area. The
new owners have mostly local and coastal sailing planned. I promoted becoming
cnc-listers several times so maybe they will pop up.

I do have a 2.2oz wire luff, storm spinnaker (70's vintage, low miles) in
storage that the new owners did not want/have room for. If any C&C listers are
interested it's free, you pay the shipping.

I do wish to stay active with the cnc-list email group as a "heritage" member
even though my current boat is a classic wood hulled powerboat.
