Mike, A while back I needed to replace a similar yanmar tach. I was given one that was salvaged at my local boat yard and while it was exactly the same size and make, it had “P=127” whereas the original had “P=97”(pulses/rev). I swapped it in and it started working. It does read high by a factor of 127/97. I intended to replace it, but I got used to scaling by 75% to correct. We all operate by sound anyway. Yes, I would prefer a P=97 RPM reading but this it was free.
