Red Jacket with a balsa core hull should be mentioned very early as leading to the success of C&C. Her success in the SORC leads to name recognition and awareness of the brand. They then build that success, a good product at a good price as Dad use to say into the yachts we love today.
What killed C&C was certainly a downturn in the market, mismanagement, and … no planned obsolescence. The boats can last almost forever and many other factors.
