I am in the water. I usually haul out in August if I want to pain the bottom.
In a normal year we seem to get better days for sailing in February than March
or much of April.
(Maryland Instant Summer, at some point in early May it is cold, rainy, and
windy when you go to bed and 90 degrees the next day)

Joe, is your boat in the water or in a yard?

I need solar at home. The solar on the boat paid for itself very quickly in
saved gas. My mother has solar and over a year she was a net seller of
electricity. Of course the power company buys at wholesale and sells at retail ☹

My elec bill approaches yours, but I have 34 solar panels on my roof. No one I
know has elec bill within the range cited by AI.

My house bill will likely be way past $500, $180 would be cheap!

The boat only has a battery charger and one heater set on low power and about
50 degrees.

That sounds pretty balmy !! and low cost for electricity.

RI went green - going to depend on Solar & Wind. no coal, propane. and of
course no nuclear !!!

Come join us in Rhode Island

Fourth highest electricity cost in nation
Average Rate: Approximately 28–31 cents per kWh. For comparison, the national
average is roughly 17.78 cents per kWh.
Average Monthly Bill: Residents pay an average of $160–$180 per month for
electricity alone.

Great sailing

The ice age is over! No day below freezing in the forecast 😊

If I start my engine this will curse us and we’ll probably have icebergs ☹

I am dreading my electric bill, Maryland very unwisely turned off our coal
fired power plants now in anticipation of solar cells and wind generators going
up in the future. My *boat* bill was $79 for power and $82 for transporting the
power from Pennsylvania and other states and the next bill is likely to be
higher.
