I fly my chute asym tacked to the forestay with a “tacker” that fits around the
furled jib. A sprit is not required, but it does make the boat go faster, thus
the penalty.

Hey Blair--

Saw your asymmetrical sail and it caught my interest.

I have a 1995 C&C 36XL/kcb which flys an enormous but PHRF legal masthead kite
0.75 oz.

I club race and cruise in NC and have considered an A sail but never pursued it
because if used with a bow sprit the local penalty to my rating is excessive
IMHO (of course!).

It sounds as though your asy is not flown from a sprit. If that is the case, I
may be interested in it.

I will have a look at my msmts to confirm it would work on my C&C and be back
in touch--unless it is already sold.
