Well it might be those programs that you wrote are the one causing the
problem. I've tried phpMyAdmin, and I've actually tested it on various
machines. Did you have permissions to view those tables. In other words, are
you accessing through phpMyAdmin using the root account or other accounts.
If another account, then did you set the permissions in the mysql database
under the table user and table db. Did you inserted the right host in the
mysql database "user" table and enabled every Boolean type to 'Y'?

Yes with phpmyadmin
but also with other programs that I have written
the problem is it worked when I first set it up but when I stop and
start mysql then it does not work. By the way mysql was install with
the pkg file from cobalt for raq4
