I had a problem like that (all services were down except the ping), the server was crashed, certainly a Kernel Panic If you are close to your server, try to connect a terminal via a null-modem cable. If you are far from your server, ask someone to reboot it ... After that check your logs to see what happened ... Hope it goes well !
