We are interested in serving pages from our secure server on our Cobalt box. I want to control access through the .htaccess file. Most importantly, I want to provide the user and password information without the user seeing the user/password prompt. In other words, when a user typically tries to open a restricted page, a user/pass dialog is posted. I would like to provide that information in the link or through script on the jump page so that the user never needs to enter a user name and password. In fact, if the user never knows the user/pass, it would be a very good thing. Any idea on how this is done?
