For PHP 4.0.6 with new GD, it says:
This package might require recompilation of other software that uses the GD
library and is installed on your system. Only install when you are
absolutely sure you want it.

The bottom line, if we install that pkg on a Cobalt server by default then
no recompilation is needed, right?!!
