k - spent the last 20 hours on this and i've read every post, every article, compiled, decompiled, installed, uninstalled and now i am officially grumpy that cobalt doesn't supply a pkg to upgrade: httpd to latest vers mysql to latest vers php4 from php3 in one fell swoop. even tho i'd rather just rpm's. but .. even then .. why can't i make httpd run after installing php4? * i upgraded mysql to the latest version. * i installed php4. * i run apache - it dies on startup, with no errors. even a strace on httpd reveals nothing. so then i tried to compile httpd from eric's httpd upgrade mini-howto, but still experience the same problem. no matter what i do, httpd just dies on startup. i researched and found that there are probs with pthreads? and checked and mysql supply a non-threaded client library to get around this problem. i have this non-threaded client installed, but still - httpd dies on startup? can anybody shed some light? thanks - chris paul _______________________________________________ cobalt-developers mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://list.cobalt.com/mailman/listinfo/cobalt-developers
