After years of using Wordstar for the TRS-80 model IV, we got tired of cutting out those 5-1/4" disks and fitting them into those little plastic 3-1/2" thingies (we never could get IP networking to work, and it didn't like samba too well either <frown>) whenver we wanted to transfer the data. So we briefly considered porting the Wordstar for MS-DOS to Xenix port to work under Linux. Fortunately we didn't have to; we found that "Joe's Editor" is very Wordstar like and works like a charm on our RaQs <smile>. Yes, it too wraps by default, but like Wordstar, it's totally wysiwyg, so you notice and turn off wrapping with ^T^W. In the past I've kept a "joe" rpm at my anonymous ftp site, but the one there is seriously out of date; let me know if you'd like and I'll look for more rpms, for both RaQ and Qube processor architectures. (For those of you who want to do the Wordstar port, better be sure you've got a licensed copy; it seems that Seymour Rubenstein, the owner of Wordstar the company (formerly MicroPro) invented the shrink-wrap license; he probably wants you to own one before you play with it <wry grin>.)
