We're currently testing YaBB, which is a flat-file based board.  We're
considering setting up a special hosting program just to host them;
there appears to be a lot of demand.

Their own bulletin board is quite busy all the time, and runs rather
quickly.  Have you any experience with them?

Is it possible you've just had experience with badly written boards?
