I've been listening closely, and I suspect that Tim is too since he started the discussion. While it is easy for these sorts of discussions to devolve into flame wars, it is also a very good way for us to hear what our developers care about. This is why it appears that we don't "just walk down the hall and ask about Solaris". A funny thing about talking to the Solaris team is that I don't summarize my discussions to our developer list :-) A key point is that none of the Solaris team has ever developed for the Cobalt line. So we ask you folks, and are very happy to hear the replies (and flames). Since the biggest replies involve security, I will say that security issues are very important to us. This is the reason that our most recent releases all include stackguarded versions of key servers. This reduces the chance of stack overflow attacks. This is a little thing, but it does help somewhat. Of course we are always trying to do better. We are working on some of the other problems that were mentioned. cj* _______________________________________________ cobalt-developers mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://list.cobalt.com/mailman/listinfo/cobalt-developers
