Out of curiousity, could you guess at the chance of success with this method ? As in, how often do you fry the flash chip ? Also, most places I've asked for chips are quoting around $80 or so, which is excessive - does anyone know a more reasonable source ? I've a raq3 here with a socketed flash (must be a really old model), and I was thinking of messing with making up PROMs...starting with updating the kernel already in it, if possible. Am I wasting my time, or is the source/build environment for the PROM released anywhere ?
