For both my RaQ3 and Qube3 I schedule daily incremantal backups
to a ' spare' server that I have on line.
I established a user login for each Cobalt machine in the spare.
Every week or so I dump from the server and burn a CD, then do
a complete backup from each Cobalt to start the cycle over again.

That makes perfect sense. I just kept getting the error that the
classes directory was causing the error. I ended up using the following
to get it to work but I'm going to try and "do it right" rather than
this brute force method:
grant {
permission java.security.AllPermission;
}
this lets all servlets do anything you want.
