No, you should change (reflash) the ROM to v2.3.x to properly run the RaQ4 OS. But, AFAIK, this must be done through the serial port, the flashrom utility, nor the pkg ROM utilities will convert from V2.9.x to 2.3.x. They work only from 2.3.x to 2.9.x, again it's a AFAIK.
