Sorry, I probably wasn't as clear as I should have been in my previous post.
I had already read the man pages, and tried both different ports, and different IP addresses, (typo on my part, I was using nessusd -D, rather than trying to run the client, I just missed the 'd' off the end in my mail) I have even allocated extra ip addresses using: ifconfig eth0 add x.x.x.x and then tried using various different ports, but I always get the same error. And I've always tried running it as root. Regards Jason
