I found this from Scott Finnie's broadband newsletter this morning: http://www.mynetwatchman.com/
They have a Perl download for Linux users. In a nutshell, the agent will monitor your IPChains log and automatically forward any offending IP addresses to the myNetWatchman server. Once they've received enough complaints (in aggregate) from the same IP, they will automatically notify the source sys admin. They also have an escalation procedure in place for repeat offenders, though it's not clear how effective any of this is. Seems like a great idea, has anyone tried it? Maybe this will get some of those wannado.fr idiots off my back.
