Hi Francisco, > Michael, I was waiting for someone to ask the question in this list, but > since nobody have done so, is it a way for those of us who have installed > the RaQ4-All-Security-2.0.1-13453.pkg update to uninstall it?
No, unfortunately not. There is an uninstaller present for this package in (/var/lib/cobalt/uninstallers/), but it will of course not delete the new glibc or re-install the old one. Some packages are just destined to be uninstallable just like this one. I thought about downloading RaQ4-All-Security-0.0.1-8061.pkg, which contains the old glibc. It's possible to extract the PKG by running "tar zxvf RaQ4-All-Security-0.0.1-8061.pkg" and then to reinstall the RPMs therein with "rpm -hUv --force --nodeps *.rpm". However, I didn't feel adventurous enough to try that on a production machine as this has the chance to screw the box up even worse. FWIW: I know SUN/Cobalt is very dedicatedly working on this problem and it appears they're also going a few extra miles more than you'd usually might expect. -- With best regards, Michael Stauber [EMAIL PROTECTED] Unix/Linux Support Engineer _______________________________________________ cobalt-security mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://list.cobalt.com/mailman/listinfo/cobalt-security
