They might be in the process of discontinuing the RaQ 4, but the 550 and XTR are still being marketed. In any case it's inevitable that any Cobalt model will eventually be discontinued. I've been working with them since 1998 and it's no secret what the life cycle of each model has been. The life cycle of the RaQ4 has already greatly exceeded my initial expectations. > TWO how much longer will they support the RAQ4s? Can someone at SUN please > anwser this email please. Why not get on the phone with someone at Sun and ask? These lists have always been unofficial and questions like this have never been responded to in an official capacity by Sun employees on-list. At the very least take this over to cobalt-users since it has nothing to do with security. BTW, it seems like there's a lot of FUD spreading about Sun and the RaQ4 and from my perspective should Sun even stop selling and supporting all Cobalt servers completely I don't think it would really have a long lasting effect on those of us who administer Cobalt boxes. I still manage RaQ1s and RaQ2s internally and for clients and give and get support both professionally and on a volunteer basis privately and through forums like the Cobalt mailing lists. Anyone who is involved in the open source community is well aware how people like many of the talented motivated people in the Cobalt community can come together on short notice to address the community's needs.
