I was wondering if someone could help me out. I installed the PHP 4.1.2-3 on the 11th. I noticed then that my Webalizer quit working. I was getting an error that the libgd.so.1 could not be found. So i created a symoblic link from the lobgd.so.1.8.4. (I found that on this list) However when I run the webalizer manaully it runs but will not update the stats page. I noticed that the webalizer.conf file was looking for a log file that does not exist. It was looking for /var/httpd/html/access_log. I changed it to /var/httpd/html/access and I turned off the quiet options. Now when i run it I get a screen filled with these errors; Warning: Truncating oversized request field
An URL in the log file is longer than the compiled-in string length used to store it, so it is being truncated. If you have valid longer URLs you can modify the source and recompile, although it may just be the script kiddies requesting "default.ida?NNNNNNNNNNNNN" types of junk. I think there is an option to display the offending log entries while processing to see if it is worthwhile to recompile, otherwise just ignore it.
Error: Skipping oversized log record
Same as above, except that instead of the URL being too long, the entire log line is too long for the buffer used to parse the line into fields, so it is ignoring the entire log entry. Fix same as above except it is a different variable name. Good luck, Frank
I looked for info on the webalizer website for exactly how this package is support to work and i checked the man pages. Both were to no avail. Has anyone else ran into this problem or have an insight? Any help would be appreciated.
