Thought I'd post this for the archives in case anyone encouters the same in the future..
>Has anyone with a fully patched RaQ4 had problems >sending mail from a form/script to the sendmail >binary since the latest sendmail patches, though >sendmail works perfectly in every other regard..? I found the fix. Turns out the CD my NOC used to rebuild my machine was a custom one. When they did so, someone had set permissions on /usr/sbin to 700 and not the normal 755 that's on most Cobalt builds. Fine and dandy except when trying to pipe through sendmail, it won't work when set to 700. Changing it to 711 does the trick. I discovered this while installing Exim on the server (which also worked like a champ) -as it experienced the same issue until I move it to /usr/exim/. If anyone is interested in Exim 4.20 on little blue -let me know (on the list) and I'll post my install notes (when I get the chance).. Exim runs "perfect" on little blue and I think is a LOT more secure and better at handling spam than sendmail.. It's config files are in plain english and not so cryptic like sendmail.. The downside is you can't use the GUI anymore and you have to add all aliases/addresses manually (which isn't a downside to some of us) -but overall Exim is really nice..
